Our Youth
How well the church fares in the future depends upon the training we give our young people. Our young people who are Christians are not looked down upon. However, as the church of the future, they are very much a part of the church at the present.
Many members of the Main Street family have a special interest in our young people, and provide numerous activities in which our young people can be together. While entertainment and fellowship are a vital part of the growing up process, the thrust of activities provided by the church is spiritual. We want our young people to develop into strong, mature Christians.

A ctive Service- 2 Timothy 2:3-4
R echarging One Another- Romans 15:14

Vision
"To prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Eph. 4:12-13)
Goals
Increase the desire to have a closer relationship with God. Luke 2:52
To have diversity but show our unity through the Word of God. Ephesians 4:4-6
To pour ourselves out just as Christ did and to be a living sacrifice. Philippians 2:1-18
To realize this world is not our home and that we are fighting together for our true homeland, Heaven. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
Adopt Christ’s main goal: Seek and save the lost. Luke 19:10
Objectives
Have activities that include kindergarten through 12th grade by joint and individual group efforts.
Have a spiritually uplifting Youth Rally that is equally inviting to Christians and those outside the church.
Have a successful Summer Fun Program by physical number but most importantly spiritual quality.
Continue to increase in our outreach to those in the community and all those who need Christ in their lives.
Activities
Over the course of the year,
there are activities specifically geared towards individual age groups as well
as activities geared towards all of the Youth Ministry Program.
Throughout the year, we offer many activities that are both of a fun and
Spiritual nature. Jesus grew in multiple ways (Luke 2:52), and it is our goal to
allow the young people to grow wiser, physically, and socially with God and man.
Here are several things that you can expect from the Main Street Church of
Christ Youth Group and a description of each:
Devotionals
The Youth Ministry Program offers Devotionals throughout the year. Two Devotionals are held each month: one for upper grades, and one for lower grades. At our Devotionals, we will either meet in our Fellowship Hall, or in a host home. At our Devotionals, we will have refreshments, and then have our Devotional period, consisting of songs, a Bible lesson, and prayers. Each devotional is for the encouragement and edification of our young people. All young people and adults are invited and encouraged to attend.
Youth Rally
Our Youth Rally is conducted
annually by the Main Street Church of Christ. It is a free youth rally with no
registration fee and housing provided by our members. The purpose of our Youth
Rally is to provide a non-controversial setting for our teenagers to be
spiritually prepared for the school year.
Pre-registration is important because it is the only way you can receive free
housing from members of our congregation. Pre-registration will be available
online and by mail. The Youth Rally is always held the last weekend of
April.
We provide 4 meals for you (dinner on Friday and all meals on Saturday). Housing
is provided by our members for those who wish to use it. The only cost you may
incur is your transportation here.
Summer Fun
Every year, our congregation makes the Bible come to life before your very eyes as our facility is transformed into our annual Summer Fun. Instead of a one-week Vacation Bible School, we have a summer of fun! Every Wednesday from 9 AM to 12 PM is filled with storytelling, songs crafts, recreation and refreshments! For ages 3-years-old through fifth grade!
